Dalrymple Praises Passage of Farm Bill

Statement

Date: Feb. 4, 2014
Location: Bismarck, ND

Governor Jack Dalrymple today released the following statement regarding Congressional passage of the Agricultural Act of 2014.

"I am pleased that Congress has passed the Agricultural Act of 2014. This five-year farm bill is not perfect, but it includes needed certainty and support for farmers and ranchers in North Dakota and across the nation. The bill enhances risk management programs which farmers and ranchers depend on; it continues the sugar program and it cuts overall spending to help address the nation's fiscal deficit. I want to thank Sen. John Hoeven, Sen. Heidi Heitkamp and Congressman Kevin Cramer for their work to get a long overdue farm bill passed, and I encourage President Obama to sign this legislation into law."
